Oh this is soooo helpful. I was tearing my hair out tonight because I kept ruining my loops when I opened them. But when I tried to finish a loop after slipping the other loop through it I could never get it to look round enough.

Wonderful tutorial! I enjoyed it, and giggled with the Sharpie but it makes perfect sense. I’d never seen a wire rounder but I’m now going to be on the look out for one!

Hi Hazel, congratulations on your Etsy success! I just ran across your blog when I was looking for a metal bur. Great tutorials, and a very enjoyable blog. I am a jeweller from the UK and am always inspired by the way a hundred jewellers can take the same materials and create completely new and different ideas.

Thank you, Rose! I’m actually working on the heel right now, and I’m surprised at how–well, I won’t say easy–workable it is. This seems to be addicting, too–I’m already lining up more sock yarns to buy, and favoriting patterns on my Ravelry account. What pattern are you using for your first socks?

Congratulations on knitting your socks. I’m a first time sock knitter also and turning the heel isn’t that bad. Just follow the instructions and relax! If you have a good yarn store near you take some time and see if there’s someone you can talk to if you get stuck. I’m so thankful for that part! Congratulations and good luck.

That’s a hat? It doesn’t look like much. Maybe you should put it on your head and take a picture of that so people can get a better idea of the way it fits.
